Green-tailed Towhee

Pipilo chlorurus - year-round migrant - eats seeds, insects and some fruit

Green-tailed Towhee

A cute bird that spends most of the time in dense scrub so it is hard to get a good photo. He isn't terribly shy but is almost always hard to spot. He is under a mesquite tree here so the shade wasn't as dense as usual. He has the cutest two footed hop-scratch to look for seed. A group of towhees are collectively known as a "tangle" and a "teapot" of towhees.
