Hooded Oriole

Icterus cucullatus - summer - eats insects, spiders, nectar, sugar water and fruit

Hooded Oriole

Above photo was taken on March 12, 2009 and is the earliest I've seen an Oriole in my yard. The winter had been extraordinarily mild. This Oriole enjoyed unfettered access to the hummingbird feeder for several weeks but later a dominant Bullock's Oriole made access difficult. Female below photographed 4.23.2011
